Leo Ghitis started Ghitis Property Company (predecessor to GPC Partners) in 1991 after a distinguished career at Trammel Crow Company, where he helped TCC grow to be one of the nation’s largest development companies in the 1980s and early 1990s. Following a decade of investing experience at diverse institutions, Jonathan Ghitis partnered with Leo and grandfather Isaac Gilinski (one of Latin America's most venerable businessmen) to create GPC Partners, expanding their traditional focus areas into a diversified multi-strategy real estate investment firm.
Today, the three-generation partnership is active across every major asset class and throughout the capital structure. GPC has become one of the most active real estate companies in the southeast U.S., having transacted on over $1,000,000,000 of new acquisitions, dispositions, and credit originations since 2018. Existing holdings include over 2,000 apartment units, 500,000 SF of commercial space, an institutional bridge-lending vehicle, and Nayara Resorts, a vertically integrated development and management company with five of South America's premier destination resorts. The portfolio reflects a diversified asset base of core-plus and value-add acquisitions, ground-up development, and structured credit investments. GPC’s portfolio is bound by the common thread of cyclically defensive, value-oriented investments with the opportunity for atypical risk-adjusted returns.
